Holmes Parent/Teacher Conference Info
Dear Holmes Parents/Guardians,
Parent-Teacher Conferences have changed for the 2016-2017 school year. They have been reduced from two sessions (6 hours) to one 3-hour session this year. We encourage parents to prioritize which teachers they need to see, in expectation of not being able to see all of your child’s teachers. If you wish to have a discussion with a teacher that is beyond the 3-minute allocation, please feel free to call or email any teacher to set up a separate meeting. If you have generalized concerns, you may wish to meet with your child’s counselor.
We realize that only having one session may make it difficult for parents with students at both the middle school and high school levels. We have staggered the beginning and ending times to help accommodate this situation. High School Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on October 19, 2016.
Students will attend a half-day of school in the morning. These changes were made due to the need to add additional days of school, as now required under the Revised School Code. Here is some general information:
Wednesday, October 19, 2016
5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Students attend school from 8:00-11:00 a.m.
These conferences will be in an arena format in the Holmes gyms and cafeteria.
Please bring your child’s schedule.
Each conference is limited to no more than 3 minutes, to allow more parents to have access to the teachers.
Holmes’ support staff, such as Counselors, Social Worker/Student Assistant Provider and Special Education teachers will also be available.
Our Book Fair will be open during conferences.
Thank you for your cooperation during this change. We look forward to seeing you!
