Future 7th Graders
Attention Parent/Guardians of incoming Seventh Graders:
Believe it or not, it is time to schedule classes for middle school!
We hope you are able to attend our Seventh Grade Preview Night (Thursday, March 12), as our counselors, Mrs. Estereicher and Ms. Shina will spend time reviewing the scheduling process for next year (7th grade). Both counselors will also visit Riley on Friday March 13th to further discuss the scheduling process with the students.
To ensure students make informed decisions about next year’s courses, please review the following steps and tips for a successful course request process:
- Review the 7th Grade Scheduling Information and use the elective worksheet included in the document to help brainstorm elective choices.
- Review the Holmes Middle School Electives document for detailed course descriptions.
- Complete the 7th Grade Elective Google Form by March 20, 2026.
Before choosing electives, make sure you read the scheduling instructions thoroughly to ensure that all requirements are met. Your course requests should reflect your interests and not those of your friends. Choose your electives wisely, as we cannot make schedule changes in the fall if you change your mind about an elective course.
The deadline to submit the Google Form is Friday, March 20, 2026.
Future 8th Graders
Attention Parents/Guardians of current Seventh Graders:
It's time to schedule classes for next school year!
Holmes counselors, Ms. Shina and Mrs. Estereicher will present to Math classes on the week of March 2, 2026 to share the scheduling process. Please keep the following in mind:
- Elective classes cannot be repeated (other than Music, Choir and Sports & Fitness).
- Please do not make your course selections based on who teaches the class this year, as staffing is subject to change.
- Please do not make your course selections based on your friends’ selections.
- When considering a world language course, only list an alternate language if you are 100% comfortable with that placement in the fall.
